Personal Insurance Built Around Your Life, Not a Carrier's Lineup

As an independent broker, I shop your auto, home, life, and recreational vehicle coverage across multiple top-rated carriers — so your policies fit your situation, not a one-size-fits-all package.

Every year, I talk to Davis County residents who are paying too much, covered too little, or managing three separate insurance relationships when one would do. If any of that sounds familiar, you're in the right place.

I've spent 25 years in personal lines insurance, including 18 years as a Farmers agent before going independent in 2019. Going independent meant I could finally do what I always believed an insurance agent should do: compare the market honestly, recommend what actually fits, and manage your coverage over time — not just at the sale.

Whether you're a homeowner in Farmington with a new-construction property and a truck in the driveway, or a retiree in Ogden with a boat you trailer to the lake every summer, I'll look at your full picture before recommending anything.

The Independent Advantage for Personal Lines

Most captive agents can only offer you one company's products. If that company's pricing isn't competitive this year, or their coverage terms don't match your situation, your options are limited. As an independent broker, I'm not locked into any single carrier.

That matters most when you're bundling. Rather than forcing your auto, home, and recreational vehicles into one carrier's bundle just to get a discount, I can build your coverage across whichever carriers offer the best combination for your specific policies. Sometimes that's one carrier for everything. Sometimes it's two. The goal is the right coverage at the right price — not the easiest sale.

I re-shop your policies at every renewal, not just when you ask me to. If a better rate exists, I'll find it before your renewal notice arrives.

Coverage for the Way Davis County Residents Actually Live

Northern Utah has a specific set of personal lines needs that a national call center isn't going to understand. New-construction homes in Farmington, Kaysville, and Layton carry replacement cost considerations that older homes don't. I-15 commuter traffic means your auto coverage needs to hold up under real daily exposure. And if you're spending weekends on the Wasatch foothills, Antelope Island, or Bear River Mountains, your recreational vehicles need coverage that goes with you.

I work with homeowners, drivers, and outdoor recreation owners across Davis, Weber, and Salt Lake counties. The coverage I recommend is built around your assets, your vehicles, your dependents, and how you actually use them — not a template.

Personal Lines Coverage I Can Help You With

Below is every personal lines coverage type I offer. Each page explains what the coverage does, what it costs to consider, and what questions are worth asking before you buy. If you're not sure where to start, call me and I'll help you sort it out.

Auto Insurance

Utah's minimum liability limits are low relative to the real cost of an accident. I'll review your current coverage, compare rates across carriers, and make sure your policy reflects what you actually need — not just what's legally required.

Home Insurance

Replacement cost coverage, liability limits, and policy exclusions vary significantly between carriers. I review your home's specific characteristics — construction type, age, location, and value — before recommending a policy.

Life Insurance

Term, whole, and universal life options, plus annuities. I help you understand what each product actually does before you commit to anything — no pressure, no jargon.

RV Insurance

Standard auto policies don't cover your RV the way it needs to be covered. Whether you have a motorhome, a travel trailer, or a fifth wheel, I'll find coverage that goes wherever you do.

Motorcycle Insurance

Seasonal riders and year-round commuters have different coverage needs. I'll match your policy to how and when you actually ride — not a generic motorcycle profile.

ATV Insurance

ATVs and off-road vehicles need their own coverage — your homeowners or auto policy likely won't cover them in the field. I'll make sure you're covered on the trail, not just in the garage.

Boat Insurance

Boat coverage varies more than most people expect. Agreed value vs. actual cash value, navigational territory, and trailer coverage are all worth understanding before you buy. I'll walk you through it.

FAQS

Common Questions About Personal Insurance in Utah

  • What personal insurance do I need as a Utah homeowner?

At minimum, you'll want home insurance and auto insurance. Beyond that, it depends on what you own and how you live. If you have recreational vehicles, boats, or ATVs, those need separate policies — your home and auto coverage won't extend to them in most situations. I'll review your full picture and tell you what makes sense, including anything you might be carrying that you don't actually need.

  • Can I bundle my auto, home, and recreational vehicle coverage with one agent?

Yes — and that's one of the advantages of working with an independent broker. I manage all of your personal lines policies through one relationship, regardless of which carriers we use. You don't have to call three different companies when something changes. You call me.

  • How do I know if I'm overpaying for my current coverage?

The honest answer is: you probably don't, unless someone has compared your rates recently. I re-shop my clients' policies at every renewal against multiple carriers. If your current rate is competitive, I'll tell you. If it isn't, I'll show you what else is available.

  • Do I need separate insurance for my ATV or boat, or does my home policy cover them?

In most cases, your homeowners policy provides very limited coverage for recreational vehicles — typically only while they're on your property, and often with a low sub-limit. Once you're on the trail or the water, you need a standalone policy. I'll review what your current coverage actually says before recommending anything.

  • What does an independent personal insurance broker do differently than a captive agent?

A captive agent represents one company. If that company's rates go up or their coverage terms change, your options are limited. As an independent broker, I represent multiple carriers and can re-shop your coverage at any renewal. My job is to find the best fit for you — not to retain you within one company's product lineup.

One Agent. Every Policy. No Runaround.

If your personal lines coverage is scattered across multiple companies, or you haven't compared rates in a few years, it's worth a conversation. I'll review what you have, show you what's available, and give you a straight answer — no pressure, no sales script.
